Goals...Manifested?

Updated: Aug 14, 2022

We all know about creating goals. We have all heard of manifestation. How do we connect the two and is it even worth it?

If you would have been reading this post a little over a year ago, it would have went something like: "Manifestation is just a coincidence of your hard work towards a goal. So, let's talk about how to turn your goals into your reality." Spoiler Alert: That's not where we're going today, in fact, we are going in the exact opposite direction. We are going to dive into how outlining your goals and having an understanding of what you want out of life can help you manifest greater and bigger things than you have ever imagined.

Outlining Your Goals

Goals are just dreams unless you put action, passion, and discipline behind them.

If you're like the majority of humans, you my friend, have been outlining your goals since you were a child. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "Where are you going to live after college?" "What's your dream job after school?" Do any of those questions sound familiar?! I am sure they do and that is exactly why I say you've been doing this far longer than you realize. So let's talk about what kind of goals you have now? Maybe you want to own that one special car with the leather interior? Maybe you want to pay off those student loans so you can breathe month to month? Or maybe you want to work on yourself?

The thing about goals is everyone has them and they don't need to make sense to anyone else but you. That's right, you don't need buy in from anyone but Y.O.U. So let's talk about how to best outline those goals and to get your own buy in. When you are outlining your goals think about breaking them down into overall categories. For instance, if I have a goal of being in a new or different job in the near future I am going to create three categories like "Want, Nope, Need". Once the categories are created I will then fill them out and begin my journey into understanding what I truly want out of this goal. Understanding the main why to a goal will always help you achieve it more quickly.

Destination: Manifestation

Now that you've outlined your goals and started to dive into your why's - let's talk about the manifestation component. If you look up the definition of Manifestation you will find something along the lines of "the action or fact of showing an abstract idea." That's right, Merriam Webster thinks your goal is an abstract idea.... But, what if she's right. What if your goal is big, so beautiful that it is an abstract idea. Let's reference art for instance, if it's an abstract piece - YOU get to decide how it's interpreted and what components of the piece are important to you.

That is no different in the world of manifestation. You are in control and get to choose what you want to focus on and what is important to you. So, how do you start your manifestation journey? It all starts with categories again, break down what you want to manifest with three categories: goals, feelings, roadblocks. It's important for you to figure out what goals you want to manifest or if you want to manifest one portion of a goal. Don't forget to understand your feelings you may want to manifest with these goals and we can never forget the roadblocks. Once you have a good understanding of what could hold you back - you can create a plan to be prepared for such setbacks.

Finally, manifestation starts with communication. Communication with yourself that is. Talk to yourself, let yourself know that things are achievable and that you are worthy of these achievements. Talk to the universe and let it know you are coming for these items and you deserve them. The most important component of manifestation is to speak it out in a positive light!

Manifest Your Goals

Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it. - Maya Angelou

We've made it - you have outlined your goals, you understand why you are going after those goals; we explored manifestation at a high level and you understand the different components you want to manifest and have started some great positive communication with yourself and the universe. Now what?

We combine what we know about our goals and manifestation and create our Goals: Manifested. We begin to speak these ideas and disciplines into existence and continue to work hard towards them. Manifestation does not create the life you want without work. The work will still be there but creating the manifestation platform for those goals will make them easier to achieve and they will be more fulfilling once you do. Start working, start communicating and watch the power of manifestation take over!

Your Next Steps: Discipline, Discovery, Reminders

As you move throughout your goals and the manifestation of those goals your next steps should always bring you into some sort of plan. Think "Discipline, Discovery, Reminders". It is with these three keys you will continue to move yourself closer to everything you want and need in life. Utilize Discipline to get started and keep going, use discovery to keep rediscovering your wants and needs throughout the process and utilize reminders to remind yourself of why you are working towards these goals. Most importantly, give yourself grace and enjoy the process!
